Bruce
Oh Bruce!  Where do we start . . .
Bruce came to Cramar with another cat - she's been rehomed; Bruce has been in a foster home for several weeks, and he has absolutely refused to get involved with his human foster mum - he's made it quite clear he's having none of it!  He's such a handsome boy, and there's so much potential there, we won't class him as 'feral' (he's also so young!).  Bruce's perfect home would definitely have other cats in it: we're certain that a confident, friendly and relaxed feline could be a role model for this frightened little boy, and could help him overcome his distrust of humans: he responds so well to the other cats in rescue, and to the resident cats in his foster home, that this is an essential for anyone thinking of taking on this nervous boy.
Because of his temperament, we think any children in his new home should be teenagers, and must be understanding about the long journey Bruce has ahead of him.
Patient and experienced people (and cats!) could bring out the best in Bruce, and reveal that loyal and loving boy we are convinced is currently hidden behind that frightened and nervous exterior.  The potential rewards of adopting a cat like Bruce, and helping him fulfil his potential, are absolutely huge, but we can't understate the amount of work that is still left to do: for Bruce, and for his new family.
With cats like Bruce, once they learn to trust their new humans, they are incredibly loyal and committed, but that doesn't happen overnight.  It is, however, definitely worth waiting for and working towards: we just need to find the right people who are prepared to take on that responsibility, and help lead Bruce to his new - happier - life.
