Smokey came into our care along with Poppy.
However after observing both cats over several weeks, we feel Smokey really does want to be an only cat.
He has shown signs of stress and over grooming. Since we have seperated both cats, this has improved and we hope will continue to do so as he continues to be an only cat.

He is a very playful cat who is affectionate and gentle. He can be a bit shy initially, so just needs a bit of patience to find his feet and get to know you. He will lap sit once he knows you and feels safe. Poppy, in the past, has prevented him from enjoying this past time as she would claim any free lap first!!
He will need access to a safe, secure garden, preferably in a rural or village setting, as he has lived on a farm previously. He would not cope in an area where there were a lot of cats around.

Both Smokey and Poppy endured a high level of stress before they came to us. It has taken time to get them back on the road to being happy and healthy again. But any prospective adopter will need to ensure they are able to continue offering them good care and good food. Whilst Smokey is so much healthier than when he came in, he still cant resist over grooming on his flanks. Once he has a home of his own and can enjoy explorng his outdoor space again, we are sure this will go. But a careful eye needs to be kept on him.
