Archie
  •     Male
  •     Domestic shorthair
  •     2 – 3 years old
  •     Came to us on 9th February
  •     Fostered in Macclesfield
  •     Log no. 1204973

Archie was reported to the RSPCA as an abandonment and spent a few weeks in a cattery while this was investigated. It was determined that the owner had gone to prison. The owner’s brother said Archie is 2-3 years old and lived in a flat but was often out and about exploring the fields.

Archie has tested negative for FIV/FeLV and has been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.  He is a healthy boy! He is looking for a pet free home.

Feedback from his lovely foster:

9th February – came to foster home. A very handsome boy

1st week – hid most of the time, in his basket, under the settee but his favoured spot is on top of the cupboards overseeing his new home. It took him a week for him to come out of hiding although he explored the house at night. Very quietly sneaked upstairs. Took him a few days to purr. Initially, I did not approach him for a few days to let him settle in.
He’s always eaten well and is a tidy eater and uses his litter tray and covers up.

2nd week – Will now come out for a stroke and will talk and greet me, rubs his head against me, he has never hissed or bitten – although a biggish lad he is gentle. When I am in, he will explore the house but, any visitors, he will hide away but he will keep his eye on them! Once they leave, he will re-join me to sit by me. He loves to play with the cat tunnel and mouse on a stick. He definitely seeks a stroke and wants to be close by. He will eat gently from your hand and he will also wait until you put his food in a dish – very good table manners!

He will sit at the window showing a keen interest on going out and will meow occasionally asking to go out.

Although will remove himself from visitors if they approach him, he will let them gently stroke him and shows no agitation/anxiety in their company but will not sit with too many visitors; I think he feels comfortable with just one person at a time (or two at a push) but still early days yet.

He presently prefers just my company and will seek me out without me calling him. If I leave the room will call me back.

3rd week – Seeks company from one person and that can be anyone – he will sit next to you, will brush his head against your head and purr, will play with his toys, still a bit jumpy but will not leave the area will go away until he’s adjusted to the noise.

Overall becoming a warm and loving cat, seeking your attention, loving to play and being by your side; he’s still a little apprehensive but getting more confident by the day.
