Male Prime (2-6 years)
Hi there!! I am the handsome floof Simon! Here I am at Yorkshire Cat Rescue after sadly I wasn't able to stay in my last home, I have some behavioural quirks that require a very understanding person. I am a very sweet lad, I loveeee strokes, I love to rub on everything and I love to play! My all time favourite games are to chase my laser pen and play with my fishing rod toy, I cannot get enough! People also say I love to sit and watch leaves outside my pen blowing around which they say is very cute! I don't play for very long though as I much prefer to be out in the corridor having a good ol' sniff and roll around.
 
As friendly and sweet as I can be, I can get over stimulated easily by too many strokes, brushing and loud noises (I really don't like those noisy neighbours of mine or when the bin men come visit!), so I really need an experienced owner who is able to read my behaviours so they can understand when I have had enough. When things get too much for me it's like a boom goes off in my head and I don't feel able to slow down unless everything is completely quiet and calm for a while. I know it's difficult because it's like I can sense fear when I'm in that state, so that's why I need someone really confident and relaxed. I never mean to hurt or scare people but I'm just so overwhelmed myself, so I protect myself however I can. But as soon as I calm back down I so want to be friends again!
 
Anybody interested in me will need to have a good chat with the peoples here so they can go through everything in more detail and let you know how we can understand each other and all be safe. They will also support me throughout my journey to a new home and for the rest of my life so please don't be put off! I really need a home where everyone in it has experience with cats, no other furries or young people and I will also need some outdoor access once I am good and settled! So, what do you think, do you have a (large) Simon shaped hole in your life? x x
