Levi and Lucky
Levi, the shorthaired boy, and Lucky, who has long hair, came into our care after their human mum passed away very suddenly. There's no doubt the boys had had a very happy home and been much loved, their sadness at the loss of their human friend compounded by the fact that they were outdoors when she passed away and couldn't get back into the house. It took ten days of sheer determination by the deceased lady's good friend to find both cats and deliver them into our care. How confusing and upsetting those days must have been.

Both Levi and Lucky are friendly boys, well used to being handled and treated well, although Levi is a little shyer than his pal Lucky, the latter being more confident about actually asking to be fussed. Levi is six years old and Lucky five with both being fine healthy boys with nice shiny coats. They had already been neutered, of course, as well as microchipped, their human being both caring and responsible. The boys had their vaccinations started when their foster mum took them for a check-up on January 9th and these will be completed at the end of the month. If you look closely at the photograph you will see that Lucky had a skinned nose when he was eventually found, but it’s healing well and nothing to worry about. He also had diarrhoea when he first came to us, no doubt as a result of whatever he had hunted or scavenged during those days when there was no access to his home. Again, it’s nothing to worry about as worming etc has all been taken care of. Having said that, it’s important to know that both boys do hunt (wee horrors!) and that Lucky, in particular, had been known to bring his human mum back a ‘present’. It’s important that cats who hunt are wormed regularly to keep them healthy and we provide a list of suggested wormers and flea control products to people who adopt from us.
So, what kind of home would best suit these two sweet, gentle, boys? Their foster mum feels young children would be too full on for them as they were used to a quiet house but children old enough to understand that shouldn’t present a problem. Their home was in a very quiet cul-de-sac, so a home well away from busy roads is definitely a must. A home together is vital as these two boys are very close and they have, after all, already lost the human they loved and who loved them.
