Smokey
Smokey isn't actually in our care but we have been asked to help find her a new home. Her long-time carer (a term I personally prefer to 'owner'!) has developed asthma and is having a bad reaction to cats so isn't able to keep Smokey with her. This lovely girl isn't a youngster but I'm told she's very healthy and agile and her carer is happy for Smokey's health records to be seen by anyone serious about offering her a home. She's spayed and was vaccinated last September. Smokey has primarily been an indoor-only cat but really enjoyed being allowed outside when staying with her carer's mother for a time so a home with a garden or other safe area to explore well away from busy roads when she's well settled would be ideal. I'm told she's not keen on other cats but that could be a result of being an indoor-only cat and not having not had much opportunity to meet any. However, it's probably safer to assume she would prefer to be the only animal in the house. As far as children are concerned, Smokey has shown signs of prefering to avoid very young children (two-year olds are scary after all!) but is happy to be picked up and cuddled by her carer's five-year-old niece. As a result of her carer's severe allergy, Smokey has had to stay with other people on and off for a while, which has been confusing and unsettling for her, so now really needs a steady home and people with the patience to help her feel safe and secure.
Initially, introductions to Smokey and her carer will be made through the charity.
