Domino
Domino is one of four kittens born to Pearl, who were either born outside or put out with their mum along with another mum, Shelley, and her three kittens. I found Pearl's kittens huddled in a corner amongst a bundle of mucky rags at the back of a hut filled to the brim with mainly useless junk and a couple of bikes. Pearl had been able to gain access via a broken window but there's no way her tiny kittens could have climbed in and it would have taken many weeks before they would have been big enough to climb out, so they were completely dependent on their poor hungry, struggling, mother to provide them with the strength to even get to that stage. It did look very much like they had been born in that hut. I found the kittens on December 5th and at the point they would be about three weeks old, making them now around 16 weeks.
So, what can I tell you about Domino? All kittens are curious but Domino is definitely the most nosey one of the litter, aways being the first to investigate anything new to find out what it has to offer in the fun-stakes. He follows his foster mum around, being ever so helpful when she's tidying up, knocking anything knockable over in an often successful attempt to live up to his name. Being taken front-on, his photograph does no justice to the many lovely black spots on his back but Domino knows they're there and why his foster mum's choice of name suits him so well. It was either 'Domino' or 'Splodge' and, very wisely, the wee lad opted for the former. Domino and his siblings have had their first set of vaccinations and, now having reached the minimum weight of 2kg to have their Big Boy and Big Girl ops, are booked in to have those ops on March 7th, at which point they'll also be given their final set of vaccinations and be microchipped. After that, it will be time to find those Forever homes where they will be treated with lots of love and kindness. Domino would be just fine with a home which included children of at least school age (we don't home kittens under six months with children younger than five) and would fit in well with an easy-going established cat who wouldn't resent his presence. A garden or other safe area away from busy roads to explore once he's very well settled would also be rather wonderful, but he might consider an indoor-only home if there's company and plenty of room to have lots and lots of fun.
