Hi ya! That very handsome tabby boy is me Tarek and I am 4 years old.

I arrived to the centre originally in December with 11 other cats from Oman where we had been living as strays. I did find a home in January, but was returned recently as I was too nervous for the people.

Here at the centre I am the most friendly, confident lad! I love to get lots of attention and fuss given to me and will head butt you to show you my love and to ask for more strokes. I can at times be a little shy or jumpy, when meeting new people say or there are loud noises, but generally I’m very confident and will soon be rolling over for a belly rub. But in the home I went to, I was a different boy and was very nervous and didn’t allow the people to touch me. I was quite stressed and desperate to get outside. The staff think that perhaps because I have never lived in a home before that I was overwhelmed by it and also because I could see the outside and that’s the life I’m used to, I was desperate to get out.

My new owners will need to be very patient with me and help me to understand that living in a home is a nice thing. They will need to be prepared to help my calm my stress at being shut in and persevere with me if I do act the nervous lad again to start with. I would be best as an only pet and to live with older or no children.
