Consett Cat Rescue
Rehoming Cats & Kittens: Co. Durham
LYRA

She is very shy and out of the whole litter is the one who stays mostly out of the way. She would most likely benefit from a house with another cat to play with as she enjoys chasing her siblings and curling up with them/grooming them. She will play with toys and sit on the sofa with her fosterer, but is only just starting to not run off if her fosterer goes to stroke her. She can hiss at you if you come into her space when she doesn't want you to, but if she comes to you she's very calm and soft. She has progressed a little more into making biscuits on her fosterer so whilst not quite lovely dovey yet, she is making good prgress all the time. Will of course be terrified of any proespective new owners but it can be overcome in time.

We ask for a minimum £125 adoption donation which goes towards some of the costs we have incurred. All cats cost us much more than this.
In the current economic crisis, we ask people make sure they can afford a cat and will manage ongoing expenses and vet bills and have provision for any emergency care etc. They are a lifetime commitment.
We ask people look at the age of the cat and that the human should preferably outlive the cat. There is nothing more distressing than an animal having to be rehomed after it has been settled for years with its owners. Expect your cat to live maybe 15-20 years (maybe longer).

If you are interested in meeting any of our cats then as they are in foster care in private homes, it is by appointment only. You will need to read an information sheet and complete a questionnaire before being allowed to visit. This saves us time asking many questions as they are all on the questionnaire. Email us to ask for thse documents. Should a visit be succesful, we will ALWAYS deliver the cat to its new home to ensure we do a home check.

We ask adopters to keep in regular contact with the rescue for the lifetime of the cat. We have a fantastic support network of people and are there for help and advice at all times.

We give you a 100% guarantee that the cat can always be returned if an adoption does not work out but this should not be a sole reason for adopting the cat, we would hope people expect to adopt the cat for life.
