Mittens & Maria
We are a pair of short-haired females and are mother and daughter. Mittens is the mum, is black and white and 2 years old and Maria is grey and white and 1 year old. We’re fit and well and have recently been spayed and virus tested, which was negative, but we’re not vaccinated. We eat both wet and dry food and were brought in from a feral colony to give us the chance of a better life.
We were feral on admission but a lot of work has been put into us and we’ve become quite happy to be stroked and fussed and Mittens will now roll her head into your hand for fuss and Maria is like a playful kitten and more confident when she’s with her mum. We’ve not been picked up yet, so there’s still work to do but we’ve made good progress since admission although it’s unlikely we’ll ever be lap cats. We’ve no experience of children and shouldn’t live with them, at least until we’re completely tame and we’re unknown around dogs and other cats. We’re litter-trained so can safely be left in with a litter tray but will probably want access to outside. We’ve become used to the Ark and our carers, but new owners may well need patience while we get used to our new surroundings.
