Raphael
Sweet angel Raphael has been at Holly Hedge for a while now.  He came to us as a street cat who found himself in a bad way, and in dire need of some medical attention.  Without having positive human interaction for such a long time, Raphi had gone into himself, and had lost all trust in people.  He was fearful, and would hide away in the hope that the strange new humans couldn’t see him.
 
After 10 long months here, being cared for, having quiet, calm company and softly spoken conversations, Raphi has slowly gained his trust, and learnt that not all humans are scary after all.  Much to the delight of one very special, long time member of the cattery team, who had been patiently working to rehabilitate sweet Raphi, one Saturday evening Raphi had decided to be a very brave boy and took a leap of faith.  He made the choice to come out and say ‘Hello’ with a head bump and allowed a little fuss.  More pieces of his guard falling away with each future interaction with his carers.  He has also been proving to be a bit of a ladies man!
 
Raphi is still initially wary, and all interaction has to be on his own terms.  But more and more he will come over for a gentle fuss and delight in the warmth of someone’s lap for a short while.  Raphie does has F.I.V. so will need a home with a cat proof garden or catio as he loves being outside.  But he can’t mix with other cats.
