Django
Anyone who says a leopard (or should that be a house panther) can't change its spots, never met our boy Django.
Arriving with us back in March as a confused 9-year-old boy who had never learned boundaries, so had learned to nip and swipe to get what he wants (which usually involves fuss, play or food!), he's had to learn that kind of behaviour doesn't get him what he wants any more.
We have to say he's a very quick learner, and as you'll see from the photos and video, is now really quite a socially acceptable young man! He does love a fuss, and sometimes still plays with his toys, but provided you don't over-stimulate him with too much of either in one go, he's delightful company.
Because of his past behaviours, he'll need an experienced home, without young children who might not understand that he needs consistency and boundaries. Since being with his foster mum though, he's grown to tolerate (OK, mainly ignore!) her docile cocker spaniel, and gets along OK with her own two older, placid cats, if he's let out and about for a bit with them. For this reason, he'd probably be fine with another cat or a dog, provided they're calm and gentle and won't crowd him.
He'd also like a safe outdoor space to explore and get some exercise in - he has quite the waistline currently...
Unfortunately for Django, he was also diagnosed with very early stage renal issues. It's managed perfectly well through diet, but his new owner will need to continue to feed him the special renal diet food. Bristol & Wales Cat Rescue may be able to support with this if required, and we can also help with his once or twice a year blood tests to monitor his condition at our vet's.
Poor Django has been stuck on the shelf for about 6 months with us now; can you give him his chance at a happy future? Neutered and vaccinated, and will come with 5 weeks' free insurance.
