Mari is a very timid feral girl, around 2 years old. She turned up one day at a rural home and we got her spayed (& chipped) and she went back to site but she was getting very aggressive with the other cats there over food. Normally we'd say feral cats are better in at least pairs, but Mari seems happy with her own company. She came in to us because of a bad injury to her neck - five puncture wounds and associated abcesses - and didn't exactly like the hands on recovery process so now she shrinks right away from human contact yet her feeder before used to be able to stroke her while eating. It isn't possible for her to go back on site because the property is sold now. Poor Mari had a place lined up to go to but their circumstances changed and she's so bored with being cooped up here, she's longing for freedom and to go back to being an ace at rodent control.
