Bushy Tail Cat Aid
Rehoming Cats & Kittens: London (West) & Hertfordshire
Pea and Penny
Penny and Pea arrived in our care in April. They were both feral, and Pea was heavily pregnant. We know from the residents that Penny was 18 months old and Pea is probably her mum. They are bonded and they always stick together. When Pea gave birth, Penny helped to raise the babies. Now that the kittens were adopted it's time for the girls to find their forever home too. Both Penny and Pea are neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV blood tested and negative on both, they are fully vaccinated including leukaemia vaccine, and they are flea and worm treated with veterinary grade products. They come with full veterinary history and with 5 weeks insurance cover. The girls have now lived with humans as part of our family for 5 months and they became a part of our home. They spend time with us and resident cats and they come to us for food. They have learned from the babies and our other cats that humans are on their side, and they understand they are loved. We are looking for an adopter who has some experience with such cats and who is willing to give the girls all the time they need. Pea is about 3 and she is a wise and sensible cat. She is always serious about sourcing out the food and she was an amazing mum. Penny is a silly, curious monkey. She likes to explore and then she hides behind Pea if her excitement took her too close to humans. The girls are bonded and even though it is a big challenge, we feel it is in their best interest to stay together. We absolutely welcome indoor homes for them if there is a catio or a garden secured with cat proof fencing, and indoor/outdoor homes are welcome too. This is more about the right adopters as these girls need time to be friendly and domesticated and letting them out now would not help the process. Because of their circumstances with raising the kittens, they had an opportunity to become domesticated, and we are half way there now. They can, of course, live with other cats. If you are interested in adopting the pair, please contact us on [email protected] or [email protected] writing a few words about your previous experience with cats and providing us with your full address for Google maps search. Pre-adoption house check and adoption fee of £150 for the pair applies. Penny and Pea are being fostered in Bushey.
