Yashin
This handsome young man is ready to settle down in his forever home. He was quite shy to start with, probably because he hadn’t had much individual attention before coming Into foster. He was one of the 25 cats rescued from a hoard of 44.

Yashin grows more confident each day, allowing more and more contact. He loves head and chin rubs and the occasion full back stokes, when he is in the mood coming back for more and more. This is still very much on his terms and he will walk away if he has had enough. Yashin is happy to be around humans though and will often choose to hang out with us. He still occasionally gets spooked by sudden movement. Although he has been a bit shy he is definitely not a scaredy-cat and comes to investigate new noises like the vacuum, printer and hairdryer.

Yashin is very polite and will sit and wait patiently giving you the ‘come play with me’ look when he wants the laser pointer, which is definitely his favorite thing to chase. Play has really been key to winning him over. He also loves cardboard boxes, catnip toys and balls to play with when by himself. He is a keen adventurer and likes to scale cupboards window sills, shelves and radiators, anything that vaguely resembles a challenge. He’ll also try out any new space he considers “available”.

Yashin has become more talkative, especially when watching the local wildlife (including people) from the window. He would like a home with outdoor access. He would prefer a calmer home without very young children as he continues to build confidence. He is still learning how great a cat's life can be and he become a wonderful friend to whoever adopts him.

Yashin has an old injury to one eye which has been checked by the vet and given the all clear; it does not require any treatment and it doesn’t seem to bother him. He has tested positive for FCoV which can cause intermittent loose stools. He has not required a special diet.
