What's my story?

Harvey is a loving charming boy who is very vocal and will always come to the door to say “Hi”. He loves being stroked and having a fuss made over him. He has been in the wars and has come running leaps and bounds. He just now is awaiting that companionship!

Harvey is estimated at just over 3 years old. He originally came to the sanctuary as a stray with large wound on the back of his neck. The wound was clipped and cleaned and he was given a course of antibiotics and a topical treatment to apply. The wound has healed well and will continue improving in time.

When under examination he was tested for FIV/FeLV and found to be positive for FIV. This is a lifelong condition where most cats do live happily however it can be slightly unpredictable making him more predisposed to infections.

Harvey is currently on a sensitive food diet which we would recommend long-term and in the past has been on cystaid a supplement to help with cystitis (inflammation of the bladder, which has now resolved but may reoccur in the future) This was potentially triggered due to Harvey being stressed in kennels. This is why it’s important we find him his forever home!

Harvey would be more suited with an owner having knowledge of FIV or willing to learn about the disease to reduce Harvey’s risk of infections. He would be ideal for an owner currently living with a house cat with FIV or a household willing to take Harvey as a house cat. Harvey can however have supervised safe access to a backyard or a home with a Catio or Cat-proof fencing.

If you are interested in adopting Harvey please complete an adoption information form.  All adoptions are subject to a home visit and an adoption fee.
