Those of you who follow our posts will know that our descriptions usually start off with a funny little joke or a story that makes you smile. But not this time...

When Theodore came in , he was about as far from a happy cat as you can imagine. He was dropped off by a girl who was glued to her phone the whole time, and left without a backward glance. She turned out to have another cat – she just couldn't be bothered with this one. The relative who came with her looked mortified, and was clearly the force behind making sure this poor cat at least made it to a rescue.

It soon became clear that not only had he not been the favorite cat, but that he had been through some serious trauma. He was terrified of absolutely everyone and it took months just for him not to cower in absolute fear every time someone walked past. He would attack if you went near him, but this was just because this poor boy had been so badly treated and he was terrified.

So. We were told to 'just feral him out' and not to bother with the vaccinations we had booked for him. Theodore was in danger of being thrown into a world he didn't know and wouldn't survive in. All because he had been abused by people.

But that's not our way - and never will be.

Instead, we took time. Lots and lots of time. Different techniques. If one thing failed, we tried something else. It took months. First he started to accept females. Men took a LOT longer time, so we think we know what may have happened to him before.

So now -

He loves. He cuddles. He comes to ask for affection.

He purrs

But he needs a VERY special home. Somewhere quiet. Somewhere without dominant cats. A place where he can continue to be the sweet, beautiful boy that he really is, and never know abuse again.

He WILL take time to settle, and needs someone who who will give him this time - and all of their heart

Lots of other cats (one or two gentle cats would be fine)

He's microchipped, fully vaccinated, neutered, vet checked, flea and wormer to date.
