CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 SITUATION and Adoption Open Days

We have introduced precautionary measures at our clinics and rescue centres to try and ensure the continued smooth operation of our veterinary and rescue services and to minimise the risks to the health and wellbeing of staff, volunteers and visitors and potential impact upon our animals.

Extra cleaning and hygiene measures including hand washing and sanitising and regular disinfecting of door handles, waiting room, and consulting room is in place. We are also reducing the number of visitors into the main clinic and rescue centre buildings to reduce risk of contamination to a minimum.

Adoption Open Day tours are therefore being temporarily suspended. Anyone with a booked appointment following a successful home visit will be able to visit to meet and choose cats as usual. Reception will also remain open for anyone wishing to drop in during our Adoption Open Day opening hours to register their interest in adopting a cat. We can also be contacted in the usual way by email and phone. Photos and descriptions of cats in our care awaiting new homes will be on our website.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused but trust you will understand the reasons for this decision. We will keep the situation under review.

Our cats and kittens are rescued and are seeking caring, suitable, permanent new homes where they will be loved, respected and have a new chance in life.

We always carry out a pre-adoption home visit. This is an informal visit which takes place in your home. We provide any advice you may need about caring for  and settling in new cats or kittens – incl. health care, feeding, holiday arrangements, dangers in your home etc. We also look at the location of your home to  assess for hazards such as easy access to busy roads or for indoor only homes to advise on making windows or balconies safe.

Our cats have varied temperaments and needs so we also discuss what ‘sort’ of cats would be suitable for you, your family, your lifestyle and your home.

Once a successful home visit has been carried out you will be invited back by appointment to meet suitable cats either at our Rescue centre or at our local foster homes and choose your new feline companion(s)

You can only choose or reserve cats at one of our Adoption Days once you have had a successful home visit. We will, of course, try and accommodate your wishes as much as possible but always with the best interest of the animals in our care.

Offers of homes and enquiries can also still made throughout the week via email : [email protected] or by phone: 020 7474 8811 - please leave a message if answer machine is on as we are often out on home visits or attending to the cats but will call you back as soon as we can. Please always leave a phone number
