A voluntary organisation based in Northants, dedicated to rescuing sick, injured, trapped and distressed wild and domestic animals. Veterinary treatment is provided where necessary, and animals are cared for and rehabilitated until they can be released or re-homed. Their sanctuary houses most of the animals in their care, which includes cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, rodents, fowl, goats, wildlife, and a little lamb called Minty!

Banbury Animal Rescue and Kindness Service (B.A.R.K.S.)

Registered Charity no. 1064556
Rescuing and rehoming in North Oxfordshire & parts of Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Warwickshire. They take in stray & unwanted cats, kittens, rabbits & guinea pigs and find them good, caring, approved homes. The animals are cared for by fosterers until new homes are found. Prospective adopters are subject to a home visit and an adoption fee is payable, (a non-refundable deposit is required if you wish to reserve a cat or kitten). BARKS receives no grants or funding, so all costs are covered by adoption fees, donations & fundraising.
Lost & Found Register: B.A.R.K.S (along with the Banbury Guardian newspaper Online) maintain a local register of lost & found pets
Volunteers Needed: More helpers are needed for fundraising events, e.g. bingo nights, jumble sales, car boots, toy tombolas and store collections.
Donations Needed: Good quality books, games, clothes, bric-a-brac etc. always needed for fundraising, and of course any donations of money are always much appreciated.

Blue Cross - Cambridge Rehoming Centre

Covering: Cambridgeshire and parts of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Caring for and rehoming cats and smaller domestic animals such as rabbits or guinea pigs. The centre can house up to 200 cats at any one time, all of whom are looking for a loving new home. There is such a huge variety of cats here, there is bound to be just the feline you are looking for. Their procedures for 'match-making' pets to prospective owners it so successful, that they have one of the lowest 'returns' rate of any animal rehoming charity in Britain.

Cats Protection - Wellingborough & Rushden

A dedicated group of volunteers working to rescue and re-home stray and unwanted cats and kittens. All cats for rehoming are cared for by dedicated fosterers, either in their homes or in high spec garden pens. Cats are health checked, worm & flea treated, neutered from 4/5 months of age, vaccinated, blood tested where appropriate prior to rehoming. An informal home visit is required before adoption, to ensure that the right cat is matched to the right home.

Wonky Pets Rescue rehabilitates and rehomes cats with special needs, and rescues cats from dangerous situations. They operate a non-destruction policy. Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care.
