Southend, Essex. Homeless and losing my cat, Rain

Hello Chat Chat readers we desperately are in need of your help and advice.
I am a 24 year old woman who has just been rapidly made street/sofa homeless after losing my job following ill health.
I have been clutching at straws doing and living anywhere I could to be able to keep my dear baby Rain... He is an adorable kitten like black male. He has been with my always being 10 years old... Though how people can't believe it! He could pass as half his age. He is a dear and special cat who has never left my side until now.
We came to the end of the line when I became partly street homeless, there are many family and friends that would love to help, but all face the same problem that I've had for too long, Southend's private rentals bearing no tolerance to animals anymore.
I approached the RSPCA for help, the lovely woman there has put him up temporarily up in a luxury cattery for two weeks to give us time to find a solution.
I am heartbroken and at a loss of what to do now
I am praying that I might be able to pay a cat foster to look after him while I can find accommodation, but all I have found is closed doors.
I have decided that I must be vigilant in his own happiness, so I am forcing myself to team this idea with the reality that he may have to find another home.
As you guys will well know... His age and colour are of a disadvantage to him. I am not sure about the RSPCAS destruction policy's.
If anyone has any ideas of what to do I would be so grateful as the stress of finding myself in this unimaginable situation, and worse losing my ray of light is proving to much, but I have to strive on for his welfare.
Thank you,
Cheryl
