Trust

Post by lmhowe52 »

I have been feeding Arthur a stray tom cat a few months now, First outdoor, now indoors In fact he now spends most days asleep on my bed. My own cat Toffee a neutered she cat a bit timid of him. I have made 2 appointments to take him to vet and have him neutered to,stop him fighting, spraying. I am allowed to stroke him, pick him up but the fight he put up when I tried to put him in cat carrier, very strong vicious cat.He disappeared for 3 days after each attempt. Its best he visits vet to check his health, age teeth, one looks chipped. How do I gain his trust to get him in carrier

Have you tried leaving the carrier in the same room as him for a few days so he gets used to it, and also placing a blanket he has laid on inside, so he is familiar with the scent when he gets near it?

This works well for us. They get so use to it they take turns sleeping in it!
