How long do you starve cat for if it's been sick ??

Hello again !! My poor kitty has has one bout of diarrhoea and was sick this morning ??
I'm not sure how long to with hold food for ? Can someone please tell me if indoor cat can get a stomach bug or if I've just over fed her ? Please god nothing worse .
Since her chest problems and having her teeth out I have being spoiling her . Chicken , tuna and wet food on demand ... Even at night .

My other cat seems fine been a bit constipated but has longhair so a little kata lax sorted him out .
I sound like the worst cat mummy ever .. But I've had enough of vets just home from taking my mums cat to vet with pancreatitis he's improved lots . My bank account hasn't lol
And kitty really doesn't cope well with vets and I'm so nervous about her and drugs now after the tramodol

They can get a stomach bug, it went through my guys earlier in the year. I took the first one to the vet but when 2 of the others came down with it I thought this is just a bug so let it work through. I didn't stop feeding them but just gave them cooked plain chicken or white fish for a few days until things started to firm up. My guys weren't sick though.

She hasn't been sick of had diarrhoea since this morning so I'm hoping that it's over now ??
I my mums cats vet and he said to starve for 12 hours and then offer ID food by the teaspoon ( I was there with my mums cat ) .
She's fast asleep next to me such a little sweetheart but had such a terrible time lately , that I panic .
