injured stray
can anyone lend me a trap. there is an injured stray her limp is becoming me pronounced since noticed Sat, have put name on list for rspca trap ,but its not quick enough. there is a regular feed pattern set up so we myself and other people who feed her know where she will be. none of us know how to trap her, but we are all willing to take her to vet if we can get her , she is timid anyway and matters are complicated by the fact that 4 other cats go after food out out for her , they are a pack. she does get food but segregating her is going to be difficult.

Re: injured stray
Can you borrow one from a local vet? Most vets have these traps and most would be understanding enough for you to borrow one - as long as you return it!
If she is slower getting to food than the others, perhaps you could put food in the trap, then a more obvious large amount for the others. They pile in and (hopefully) when she arrives she will be hungry enough to chance the trap. Does that make sense?
Good luck.

Re: injured stray
i've used an ordinary cat carrier as a trap a couple of times - put a bit of something smelly at the far end, like tuna or whatever she fancies.
Good luck with her!
Good luck with her!

Re: injured stray
Just been there she was eating and i tried getting the basket on her but she eluded me, i threw her some food which she ate(did not want her walking too much) and watched from a distance as she had a good drink of water, will try again tomorrow unless one of the other carers gets her today. she is looking brighter than yesterday more alert still good appetite, eyes bright so fingers crossed maybe she is healing . i know she wont go for a trap even if other cats would let her get food before them , so i will just have to try the basket and blanket technique.
