Well done Mark, I don't mind at all. There's a couple more on there now....
Yes, he does have huge ears! Huge paws too. It's like having a black panther in the house.

But he's settled in really quickly, and we're getting the hang of each other. He loves climbing up my leg for attention (ouch! I'm trying to break him of that habit) and gives me wet kisses in my neck when I cuddle him. He paddles like mad, and has really sharp claws(!!), so my legs and chest look like I fell into a gorse bush! His teeth can bite through sheet steel, as I've found out to my cost when he gets over excited. Never fails to draw blood. We have a "puncture repair kit" on hand in the kitchen, comprising surgical spirit, germolene and plasters! He head butts you while you're drinking, which gets really messy. Yesterday he wanted a cuddle when I was on the phone, standing a few feet from the work top out of his reach, so he simply launched himself at me!! Luckily he missed, as the grappling hook effect of his claws would have been agony! He landed somewhat unceremoniously on the floor, giving me a quick swipe on the way down. He's started shredding the kitchen door in protest at being shut away, so will have to get something to cover it up, probably a scratching post type thing.
I know it's been only a short time after Lily died, but we'd known it was on the cards for a long while, so I'd had plenty of time to prepare myself for it, and it's two years since we lost Mitz. Sadly last week would have been the 7th anniversary of bringing them home, and while I miss them both like mad, and wish they could have had longer with us, I'm so pleased we were able to give them a loving home for their last years, and we loved them dearly. So now it's someone else's turn to be sprung from Alcatraz to lounge around on beds, sofas and sunny lawns with us. (Although tbh Sam was so happy at the Bentham Rescue, which is a fantastic set up, I almost felt mean taking him away from there!).
Ginger Puss is being prepared for us, she's now FIV tested (all ok), and started her vaccinations, so I reckon she'll be joining us after Easter. She's quit petite and very shy, so will need a bit more help settling in, but both she and Sam seem fine with other cats, so I'm hopeful they'll rub along ok. Some new challenges ahead
