6 year old female constantly licks her bum
Hi. My 6 year old female Coco is constantly licking her bum. She doesn't appear to be in any pain but does sometimes run around madly from room to room meowing and then sits down and grooms her bum. Any ideas as to what her problem is? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Is she regularly wormed? - it could be that. Also, sometimes their anal glands can get impacted and need to be done by the vet.

It could also be blocked anal glands.
They have glands that sit inside their bottom, on either side, and sometimes they get blocked, which can be very uncomfortable for them. If that's the case then you take them to the vet to have the glands...umm...unblocked. It's not pleasant, I'm afraid, and needs to be done semi-regularly if they continue to have problems, but it's worth investigating.
