pupils

I'm just wondering what kind of behavioural thing this may be, me and my cat were staring into each others eye (trying to get up but she's just too pretty ) and her pupils dilated then shrunk and carried on doing it?does anyone know why?

Their pupils usually dilate like that when they're focusing on something, such as when they're hunting. Prolonged eye contact with cats is often a challenge, so your cat may have interpreted it as play time. If you watch a cat hunting a toy, their pupils dilate right before they pounce, so it might be that your cat was contemplating pouncing, and then thought better of it, lol!

ooh that's interesting and definitely plausible with her, she's very much an attack cat  I'll watch her when she plays with her flamingo toy :)
Thank you

Staring ar cats eyes is considered by them hostile movement. I look into my cats eyes for 3 to 4 seconds and they look other way. Normally they dilate pupils when they will engage or they are apprehensive.
