Kitten 9 weeks and vomiting

Post by Stephy191 »

Me and my boyfriend have just started our fur family and got a kitten she is just over 9 weeks of age,

She didnt it the first day we had her but slowly relaxed and began eating, we gave her the same food she was having with the previous owner and has been eating well

Alot of people say she is small and dosent look 9 weeks old,

She has been to the vet two days ago for her vaccination which went well, she was a bit sleep yesterday but fine eating and using the litter tray,

However today she was off her food, and any food she has eaten she brings back up, we have been to the vets and they have advised she is fine, but given her sensitive stomach cat food and some medication

You were very sensible to take her to the vet. If their advice is that it is just a temporary tummy upset I would not worry too much. A lot has happened in the short time she has been with you - new family, vaccinations, etc, etc - and a short term reaction to vaccinations is not uncommon. I would keep her warm and quiet and offer her regular tiny meals of the sensitive food, perhaps mixed with a little water to keep her hydration levels up. Kittens tummies are very small when they are young - think of a not very big walnut - so a teaspoonful at a time will probably be enough, offered every few hours.

Hoping to hear she is feeling better soon.
