Purposely jumping up to nip me
My cat has recently started purposely jumping up to my arm to nip me. What is this? Wants attention? Boredom? It’s obviously not acceptable but I can’t work out why she’s doing it and am really worried she will do it to my children though so far it only seems to be me. It’s not hunger, she has food out.

It sounds like attention seeking to me - she jumps and nips, you react in a very interesting way, she repeats the experiment. I would try frequent short play sessions with a wand or other arm's length toy.

Re: Purposely jumping up to nip me
Is it a proper bite or just a kind of closing her teeth and gripping quickly ?
Could be what's called cat love bites https://www.petmd.com/cat/behavior/cat- ... -they-mean
Some call it 'kisses with teeth'
