Cameron
Little Cameron is one of the three kittens born to Madelaine on May 16th. Madelaine and several other cats were brought into our care back in April, taken from a situation where food, and any other care, was totally absent. Given their experience you would imagine the cats brought in would just hate humans but, although shy, they are completely without aggression. Cameron and his two brothers,George and Jackson, were born in our care as were the kittens born to two of the other cats who came to us heavily pregnant from the same place, so they've only had good experiences of humans and been spared the hardships endured by their poor mothers. Cameron and his brothers have had a great kittenhood so far and are just adored by the adults, both male and female, who came in with their mother. They think all adult cats are patient and kind so it's really important that, when homed, they don't come up against a resident cat who resents them. In fact, Cameron was offered a home by a lovely couple but their established indoor-only and usually super-friendly cat pulled a Jekyll and Hyde stunt as soon as she was faced with Cameron, who was quite safe in a carrier, making it very clear that she was not having this upstart in her home! Talk about raging! So, Cameron and I took the undisguised hint and headed back out the door. I'm assured by her lovely humans that the wee madam put her pretty face back on, secured her manicured nails back into their sheaths lest they get chipped as soon as Cameron and I left. Well, you can imagine the story Cameron had to tell his mum, siblings and big pals and he didn't even have to exaggerate for effect. He's such a good-natured wee guy, always happy to be fussed and cuddled if he's not too busy, that he should be fine with children of school age and maybe even a welcoming established cat or cat-friendly dog. He has now been neutered (early October) and been fully vaccinated and microchipped so is now ready for life's next adventure. It would be just lovely if he was homed with one of his brothers or even with one of the young adults who have helped his mum to care for him and his brothers.
