Based in Carlisle, covering north Cumbria and South West Scotland. The charity rescues and rehomes cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas and poultry and occasionally farm animals. A home visit is carried out prior to adoption, and a donation is expected, to help towards their continuing work.

Covering DG8 and DG9. This is a small, self funded branch run by a handful of dedicated volunteers. The branch helps to rehome cats, offers assisted neutering, provides an advice service on kittens and cats and assists with lost and found cats.

SSPCA - Dunragit Kennels

Based in Stranraer. The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Scottish SPCA) prevents cruelty to animals and encourages kindness and humanity in their treatment. They continue to rescue and rehome Scotland's abandoned, neglected and defenceless animals.

Cinnamon Trust - Homes Needed UK Wide
Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Permanent homes needed for cats whose owners have died or who are no longer able to care for them. The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in.
