Friends of Akitas Trust's objective is to help, rescue where necessary, rehabilitate and rehome any Akita which needs it, through assessing both dog and potential owners, to ensure a well-matched and long lasting, happy relationship.

The JAWT (Japanese Akita Welfare Trust) was founded by a small group of dedicated Akita owners, who recognised the need for a pure breed rescue in the UK and also that the breed needed a body who would be able to give unbiased opinions to the general public on the welfare and health aspects of this wonderful breed.
