Rescue cat Marmalade from Kirkby Cats Home, Nottingham, needs homeHello, I'm Marmalade and I'm a 2 year old neutered tortie girl. I came into rescue as my human sadly passed away. I was very traumatised as I went from being a much-loved pet in a quiet home to a rescue cat in unfamiliar surroundings. This made me scared and sad, so I became a shell of my former self, hiding in the corner of my pen and not interacting with anyone. Someone was kind enough to offer me a home but they wanted a lap cat from the start and I needed some space to settle in, so back I came into rescue. I'm a cat that needs time to adjust and settle, I need to come to you when I'm ready. Like many sensitive humans, I don't like my space being invaded when I haven't invited it. I knew happiness once and would love to find it again. I just need a special patient human to help me. Do you think that you could give me a chance?

Rescue cat Samson from Burton Joyce Cat Rescue, Nottingham, needs a homeHello, my name is Samson. I'm a handsome black cat looking for a home. I'm about 5 years old and am neutered. I've had a tough life so far and would really appreciate a home to call my own. I started out as someones pet but was abandoned at an early age so I've spent a long time fending for myself. I'm a clever cat and so I entered a house via a cat flap and helped myself to the residents cats food. I really like my food...or another cats food! I was taken to the rescue and have been here ever since. Sadly, I frighten people away as I have a tendency to growl. Not very cat like, I know. I also sometimes lash out and as you can imagine this isn't helping me find a home. I've learned to distrust humans due to my difficult start in life and this comes across. However, once I'm stroked or groomed (with gloves on) I quickly calm down and enjoy the fuss. I love other cats so would be more than happy to live with another cat. I wouldn't be suited to a home with children and I'm not sure about dogs. I'd need a home with access to the outdoors so I can come and go as I please and I'd need a home where someone is prepared to let me come to them on my terms, and give me a bit of time to settle in and help regain my trust. Alternatively, I could live in an outdoor home and become the resident pest control officer. I would of course need feeding as I'm a big boy who loves his food! Please email the rescue for more information about me.

Rescue Cat Lacey from Kirkby Cats Home, Nottingham needs a homeHello, my name’s Lacey and I’m a beautiful tabby girl with gorgeous markings and I’m around 18 months old. I’m in need of someone special, someone with lots of patience and a big, kind heart. I catch people’s eye because I’m so lovely but I didn’t have the best of starts and as a result I’m depressed and quiet and don’t make an effort to interact. I was found while I was pregnant and found it really hard to be a Mum because I was so young, my kittens had to be hand reared. I need someone to help me gain my confidence, someone who is experienced with cats and who would feel rewarded by the small steps they’ll see me take. Someone who can be patient with me and give me space but who can show me that humans are kind and loving and most of all can give me a forever home and love me whatever. I’ve been neutered and would like access to a safe garden. Do you think you might be the special person I’m hoping for?

Rescue cat Mr Clifton, from Burton Joyce Cat Rescue, Nottingham, needs a homeHello there! My name is Mr Clifton, how do you do? I am a handsome ginger and white puss of five years old. The first thing you will probably notice about me is just how friendly I am - I love people, being around then and being made a fuss of. If people are at the top of my wishlist then I'm afraid other cats are the bottom! No cat companions for me please! Although I am neutered now, in my past I used to fight over all the attractive girl cats, which unfortunately led to me getting FIV. This means I need to be kept indoors, so I would need a secure home that makes that possible. If you are looking for a really friendly cat that loves life and being around people then I'm a top choice. I'm chipped, vaccinated and ready to roll! (Visit our FIV information page, or visit the FIV Owner's Club on our friendly forum.)

Rescue cat Pepsi, Lina’s Cat Rescue, Derby, needs a homeMeow! I'm Pepsi and I'm a cool, sweet, dark, bubbly and refreshing cat. OK, so maybe I'm not refreshing, but I do otherwise live up to my name! I have beautiful black, medium length fur with a hint of brown, and am a playful girl aged around 7 years. Unfortunately I had to leave my previous home due to an allergy, but you will find me to be a friendly, affectionate cat that enjoys being brushed (but not so much being picked up!). I'm full of character and a cat that you can really fall in love with. Ideally I would like to find a home with just adults or older children as I can be a bit physical when I play, but it's just part of my personality - I love having fun and don't mean any harm - so some understanding humans would be perfect. I would much prefer to have access to the outdoors if possible, and have been neutered and micro-chipped ready to find my new home. If you think you could give me the sort of life I would love, please do get in touch.

Rescue cat Timmy from Animal Accident Rescue Unit, Nottingham needs homeHi there! my name is Timmy and I’m around 3-4 years old. Well what can I say about myself other than I’m a relaxed, quite lazy and lovable boy!
My fosterers try to encourage me to play, and they’ll succeed for a few minutes, but then I just want to lie down and have a quick cat nap. That’s my perfect life really, eat and sleep, sleep and eat….what’s not to enjoy about that? I am a very friendly cat and enjoy a good fuss around my head and chin, I wouldn’t call myself a lap cat though, unless I’m after my food. When I’m hungry I like to remind you that I’m hungry….I do like my food and I’m not a fussy eater at all. I will even sometimes come and nibble your arm as a friendly reminder it’s dinner time. My fosterers describe me as a very cute, very friendly cat. Anyway - I have also been neutered so I'm ready to go and be someone's lovely companion.

Rescue cat Baxter from Animal Accident Rescue Unit, Nottingham, needs a homeHello, my name is Baxter and I am around 6 years old and have been neutered. As you can see I am a sleek black cat, sadly that means that I am less likely to be chosen - I don’t see what my fur colour has to do with it, surely it should be about how fantastic I am! I am a lovely and affectionate lad, I become even more affectionate around dinner times, I am fairly sure it makes sure dinner is on time. When I was found I was suffering with cat flu, it has cleared now but I have been left with runny eyes, easily cleaned with a tissue, and means that I can’t be homed with another cat so as not to pass it on; I am fine to go outdoors though and would like to explore. If you need a loving lad in your life purr-lease do get in touch and let me wow you with my magical personality.

Rescue cat Sox, from RACR, Nottingham, needs a homeHi human! My name is Sox, how do you do? I am a little black and white puss with just the most adorable markings (or so I'm told!). I can be a little reserved at first, but when you get to know me, you'll see I'm ever such a friendly girl. Although technically at two years old I'm no longer a kitten, I still love to play, and my kittenish antics will certainly keep you entertained until I wear myself out! Then a comfy place on the sofa, a tasty treat and a fuss would be just the ticket. Being so young means I'm fascinated by just about everything around me, including the great big wide world; a bit of outdoor space to prowl would be perfect! As yet I don't know if I fancy sharing my space with another cat, child or canine, so for the time being I think I'd prefer to settle into my new home as the only cat! I'm spayed, chipped and had my shots, so I'm all ready to go. Could I be the cat for you?
