Covering Teesdale and surrounding areas. Animal rescue - domestic, including rehoming of cats and kittens, also helping wildlife (room permitting). A home-check is always carried out before homing, and follow-up contact is made after homing. The Ark is unable to house dogs but they do run a database to assist with direct homing. Permanent sanctuary is given to those animals which cannot be released or rehomed. The Ark also runs a Wildlife Education Centre and Nature Trail, and animal care courses. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care.
