Animal Rescue Charity (ARC) (The)

Based in Bishop’s Stortford. Animals are given a safe haven, and are protected until their problems can be solved. A no-kill policy is in operation. High quality veterinary care is given to the animals as needed. New homes for domestic animals are carefully selected, and wildlife are rehabilitated to their natural habitat. Cat & Kitten Rescue

Based in Waltham Abbey (Essex) & Cheshunt (Herts), but covering a much wider area. The Scratching Post rely solely on charitable donations to help with their rescue and rehoming work. Their policy is to ensure that no cat is ever kept in unsuitable accommodation while it is waiting for a home. All cats are vet checked, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, given any other necessary veterinary treatment, and neutered if old enough (kittens homed with a neutering agreement). Microchipping on adoption.

Based in Harlow. Giving shelter to unwanted and homeless cats and kittens, all of whom will be health checked, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Flea and worm treatment is also given before re homing. Whiskers Sanctuary do not charge a fee, but do ask for a donation on adoption.

Cinnamon Trust - Homes Needed UK Wide
Cat Fosterers and permanent homes always needed. The Cinnamon Trust (the National Charity for the elderly, the terminally ill and their pets, Reg. charity. 293399) are looking for more volunteer homes throughout the UK. Pet free homes are needed for short-term fostering of cats whose owners are in hospital or respite care. Permanent homes needed for cats whose owners have died or who are no longer able to care for them. The Cinnamon Trust is not a rescue shelter and cannot take unwanted cats in.
