Squid

Rescue cat Squid from Consett Cat Rescue, Consett, County Durham, needs a homeI've been waiting over a year... Please pick me! How do you do? My name is Squid. I am a 2 year old lass and I have been here for almost 2 years now after arriving as a heavily pregnant lass. I had 4 kittens, who I raised well and they found their forever homes some time ago; as I was semi feral I have taken a lot longer to get used to being a people cat. My foster family have worked so hard and while I don't like to be picked up or handled, I am calm and content and my family see that in the right home I could even become a lap cat - as long as it is all on my terms! With the right people I will show my loving side; you would just need to be very, very patient with me. I just had a dental and most of my teeth removed, I am now the proud owner of just 4 teeth, not that it stops me eating, there is nothing I can't handle. I am looking for an indoor home, where I can be the only pet and with no children as I am always going to have a little bit of feistiness in me. I am neutered, chipped and ready to go, all I need now is you...

Imelda

Rescue cat Imelda from Consett Cat Rescue, Durham, needs homeHi there, I am Imelda and I am a young girl, I was about 6 months old when I arrived. I've had a lot of upheaval in my short life, I haven't had a chance to live in a proper home and be someone's companion. I'm looking for a patient human who can help teach me. I'm quite scared of people and will run off and hide sometimes, sometimes I lash out with my claws - I don't mean to but I feel threatened. The rescue people have built up a bit of trust with me and I will let them stroke me gently. I need someone to continue to work with me and help me learn to trust. My brother Ingo is very loving so there is definitely hope there! I will need to be an indoor cat and I could either live with other cats or be your only cat. I am neutered, chipped, and vaccinated so I'm all ready to go to my forever home. Do you think it could be with you?

Kenzie

Rescue cat Kenzie, at Consett Cat Rescue, Durham, needs a new homeHello, my name is Kenzie. I'm a beautiful one year old girl with a shorthaired tortoiseshell and white coat, and I'm looking for a loving permanent home. I was born a feral kitten which means I'm nervous around new people, and my human friends will need to give me time and understanding as I settle in to my new home. As I gain confidence I begin to enjoy gentle strokes and affection and relax enough to give a contented purr. A peaceful home without dogs or young children will suit me best, though I can live with other cats. I'm looking for an indoor home - but a catio or cat-proofed garden would be ideal. I'm spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and ready to begin my new life in a caring household. Could you offer me the loving forever home I deserve?

Bronson

Rescue Cat Bronson, Consett Cat Rescue, Consett needs a homeHello, my name's Bronson and I'm hoping to find my forever home. I'm a 1 year old, black and white, short haired boy. I've been neutered, chipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms. I have to admit that I'm a bit of a bully with the other cats and behave a bit like a naughty teenager really! I came in with another two cats, Bindi and Daisy and I adored them and was guided by them which goes to show I can be nice! Maybe a friendly female cat would be nice to have. I don't want to live with a dog though. I have started coming forward for attention and enjoy a stroke on my terms but I think I'm best with no children.. I'm looking for a quiet, indoor home or I could go out to a catio, or a secure, cat proofed garden. If you are an experienced cat owner and think that you have just the home for me, please get in touch?

Ephraim

Rescue Cat Ephraim, Consett Cat Rescue, Consett needs a homeHello! I'm Ephraim and I've got a smart, short haired, black and white coat and I'm 1 year old. I've been neutered, microchipped and I could have been vaccinated too although if not, then the rescue will pay for me to be vaccinated as long as it's done at one of their vets. The people here say that i'm a bit of a live wire and I'll get up to lots of mischief in my life, don't know what they mean teehee! I might be a bit hyper around another cat, although, depending on the cat, I might be okay living with them. I am however, not sure about living with children or dogs. I'm a cheeky boy who loves to be picked up although, I will get a bit wriggly after a while and want to be off with a rush of energy. I'm looking for an indoor home and perhaps somewhere with a porch door before the main door because I am quite likely to rush to get through doors before you can close them and dart out at great speed! If you think you might have the perfect home for this cheeky, lovable, live wire, please get in touch soon!

Teddy

Rescue cat Teddy from Coundon Feral and Stray Cat Rescue, Bishop Auckland, Durham, needs a homeHello, my name is Teddy. I was found straying, and had been for a number of years; maybe I had a home once, but it was a whole lifetime ago. I had joined up with a feral colony and was being fed by kindly neighbours. I had a disagreement with a car and came away needing crate rest, so came into care. I am now neutered, chipped and vaccinated; I was also found to have some dental issues, including tooth reabsorption, so will need ongoing vet care and possibly further dental treatment. I have decided that I would like a nice indoor home, with people who will be around a lot of the time, to keep me company; I really enjoy cuddling up on a lap and get sad if left for too long. I would prefer to be the only pet, but could live with children. Please get in touch if you could offer me my forever home?

Caterella & Violet

Rescue Cats Catarella and Violet from Pawz for Thought, Sunderland, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, need a homeHello everyone, we are Caterella (left) and Violet. Violet is a beautiful tabby lass and I am tabby & white. We are on the hunt for a nice quiet home with a patient guardian to care for us. Violet was living with a feral colony but was not too feral, so came in with the hope of settling into the right home and blossoming. I arrived from another colony; we were popped in together when our babies had all found their homes, and we have become very good pals. We are looking for just the right people to show us that a settled home life is a good thing. We are now neutered and would like a home with only one or two people and no children. Other cats would be perfect, especially if they can show us the housecat ropes! If you think you could help us reach our full potential and have patience in bucketfuls, please get in touch.

Pudding

Rescue cat Pudding from Consett Cat Rescue, Consett, County Durham, needs a homeI've been waiting over a year... Please pick me! How do you do? My name is Pudding, I am a shy and gentle lad looking for someone to love me. I am almost 2 years old and have already spent over a year of my life in rescue; I am scared of unexpected noises and like my routine, so probably don't push forward as much as other cats. Once I know and trust people I really quite like a chin tickle and a stroke. I do tend to hiss when I am frightened, it is not aggressive, not sure I could be that way even if I tried, a hiss is all I have when worried. I am very much a modern lad, I enjoy spending my down time watching cat videos on TV and will have a funny 5 minutes chasing a laser pointer. I love other cats and would love to share with others, rather than be an only cat; but would prefer no young children or dogs. I am a house cat and content with it, but if you had a catio for sunny days, I would be over the moon. If you can offer me my dreams, please get in touch.

Petunia & Robin

Rescue cats Petunia and Robin from Willows Cat Adoption Centre, South Shields, Durham, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland, needs a homeHi there; my name is Petunia and I am here with my brother Robin. We are 3 years old, neutered and have beautiful white coats. We are in need of a new home; our perfect home would be where we are the only pets and where there are no small children. Robin is very nervous and wouldn't be able to cope with unpredictable small humans. Once Robin is settled in and knows he can trust you, he is gentle and affectionate. I am a bit more laid back, friendly and affectionate. We would be over the moon to find a home where we can go outside to explore, after we are fully settled in, of course. If you have just the home we are looking for and can be patient while we find our feet, please get in touch.

Christopher

Rescue Cat Christopher, ,Pawz for Thought, Sunderland needs a homeHello! I'm Christopher. I'm a handsome, 2 year old, black and white lad. I arrived at the rescue as a stray and although I was friendly, I could be prone to the odd swipe. I was neutered and microchipped and that calmed me down a lot. I can still swipe occasionally though so, I think I'd be best in a home with no children. I'm not sure about living with a dog but as I can be a bit pushy with other cats, I'd be best as an only cat. I have loads of energy and am very playful so I'd be looking for a garden to get out into to use up my energy. If you have room in your heart and home for a handsome, friendly, full of beans boy, please get in touch soon?

Penny & Porter

Rescue cats Penny and Porter from Pawz for Thought, Sunderland, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, need homesWell hello there, we are Penny & Porter a sibling pair, we arrived as part of a group of 4 older kittens  and are around a year old. We are looking for a patient owner or two, who are happy to watch us blossom slowly. You see, we arrived as older kittens who weren't used to humans, in the time we have been here we are still unsure about being touched, but are far more comfortable with people now. What we need to help us is to find a home, with experienced people who will give us time to settle in and show our cuddly sides. We would like a home with a catio of enclosed garden to explore, once we are fully bonded with our guardians. We are neutered and ready and waiting to be the chosen ones, could you help us out with that?

Dexie

Rescue cat Dexie from Consett Cat Rescue, Durham, needs homeHello, I am Dexie and I am a young, neutered, tabby girl of about 2 years old. Now I am looking for a very special human who understands timid cats and would be willing to show me some care and patience. I came to the rescue as part of a bunch of unwanted kittens. My brothers and sisters were the friendliest of cats and were adopted but I was scared and timid and have been in rescue for almost my whole life. The rescue people are used to seeing just my bum as I hide! I think I would like to make friends with someone but I'm just so scared. If one of the rescuers manages to catch me and put me in a kennel and spend time stroking and talking to me, I do get used to it, but when released back into a room I go back to hiding. I would like a patient human who will work with me and will understand that I may not ever be a lap cat. I might be ok with another cat if they are friendly - they might even give me confidence. I had to have some dental work done and I actually have no teeth now, but I recovered well and just like softer food. I know I might be a hard 'sell' to most but hopefully there is a gentle angel in human form that might be able to help.

Peggy

Rescue Cat Peggy, Consett Cat Rescue, Consett needs a homeHello, my name is Peggy. I'm a little, semi long haired, tabby girl who's 16 months old. I've been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and have also been regularly treated for fleas and worms. I'm a bit of a nervous girl but I do enjoy strokes and if you get to the point of giving me belly rubs, well then I really love you! I think I'd benefit from going to my new home with another kitten or cat or if my new home already had an existing cat, I think that would boost my confidence. I am currently being fostered with Pudding, we're best friends and get on so well, so if you thought you might have room for 2 cats, Pudding would love a home too. I'm looking for an indoor home please with no dogs or children. Do you think you might be able to help me find my happy ever after?

Gus

Rescue Cat Gus, .Consett Cat Rescue, Consett needs a homeI've been waiting over 2 years... Please pick me! Hello, my name's Gus and I'm a tabby and white boy, looking for a home where I'll be given the time and space to get to know you and learn to love you. I'm a big lad, I'm 1 year old, I've been neutered, chipped, vaccinated and am in good health. Now, I'm a bit nervous around people but I will come round with a bit of time and love and I've heard that it can be very rewarding when a cat like me builds a bond and learns to trust their human. I'm a bit of a loner but I have lived with other cats and as long as it's the right cat, I think I'd get comfort from being around another cat and knowing it was there. I'd rather not live with any dogs please. I'm happiest not living with children, I think I might be a bit scared of them. I'm looking for an indoor home but I'd be happy if there was a catio or a cat proofed garden in my new home too. If you think you might be the special human this tabby and white boy is looking for, please get in touch?

Skye & Reece

Rescue cats Reece and Skye from Pawz for Thought, Sunderland, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, need a homeW've been waiting over a year... Please pick us! Hello, my name is Skye; I would like to tell you all about me in the hope that I find my forever home. I was picked up as part of a feral colony but have become more used to people and I quite like the lovely things I get when they are nearby. I am a sweet natured lass who just needs someone to take a chance and work with me to help me blossom. I fell in love with Reece and we bonded; we can often be found cuddled up like our picture. He is very timid and will tolerate a quick pass by tickle but not a proper stroke yet. We will need to be indoor cats until fully comfortable and settled in; we both enjoy time in the sunny catio here; in fact, a forever home with a catio would be like a lottery win for us! We have been neutered and are ready to meet you; if you are an experienced cat person who understands our need to take things at our own pace, please get in touch.

Deborah

Rescue Cat Deborah, Consett Cat Rescue, Consett needs a homeI've been waiting over a year... Please pick me! Hello, my name's Deborah. I'm a pretty little female cat with a sleek black coat and the greenest of eyes. I've not had the best start to life, I was born into a feral life and am really timid. I'm 2 years old though and given time and patience, I will make someone a wonderful friend. I am already able to be stroked by the staff here if they're patient with me. I can sometimes lash out because I'm scared, so a home with no children or older children would be best. I don't like dogs but I might be okay with a gentle male cat in the family. I'm looking for someone who's experienced with cats and who can help me learn to trust humans and learn how to love and be loved. I'm looking for an indoor home for now but given time, that might change. I've been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. People think I'm grumpy but I'm just misunderstood! Could you be my special person who can see beyond the front I put on and can see the loving cat I could be?
